Sadie's first cheer comp

Sadie had her first competition of the season. She has worked so hard this year on getting her back handspring and round off back handspring. After a lot of work and a little bribing from her mom She finally got it!! She did such a great job in her routine and did all of her back handsprings. Sadie loves Cheerleading and loves competing with her team. They were a little disappointed when they took 3rd place but they looked great and did their best! We have a few more competitions to go and then off to California for the final one in the Spring.

Brinley and Hailey love watching Sadie! Hopefully one day Brinley will have a turn at Cheerz!

Snow Day!!

The girls had so much fun on the first real snow day of winter. They were out bright and early shoveling the snow with their Dad. Hailey tried out her bum sled but it wasn't working to well! She had fun building a snow fort with Sadie and her Dad. They spent most of the day out working on it. It turned out really cool and they love it!

The Start of 2012!

I have been thinking about the past year and all of the ups and downs life brought to us and I was really impressed with an article I read in the Ensign called Living the Abundant Life by President Monson. It talked about 3 ways we can live an Abundant Life. 1- Have a positive attitude- So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment. 2- Believe in yourself

B is for Believe in yourself, in those around you, and in eternal principles. Be Honest with yourself, with others, and with your Heavenly Father. 3- Face Challenges with Courage- Courage is required to make an initial thrust toward one's coveted goal, but even greater courage is called for when one stumbles and must make a second effort to achieve. Have the determination to make the effort, the single-mindedness to work toward a worthy goal, and the courage not only to face the challenges that inevitably come but also to make a second effort, should such be required. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says "I'll try again tomorrow."

I am so grateful for a prophet that is so in tune with things that we need to know and work on. I know that 2012 will be a great year if we remember these important ways to live a more abundant life.

New Years Day

We once again made our way up to Soldier Hollow for a fun afternoon of sledding. We were a little concerned when we had received only a little bit of snow this winter. As we were driving to the mountain you could spot it a mile away. There was one patch of snow where the sledding hill was. I guess we were going to be ok. This year it was fun to have Marlin with us. The kids loved sledding down the hill with Marlin and Grandma. This year was especially fun because it was about 50 degrees up there. It was so warm we shed our coats and just about every other layer we had on by the end of the afternoon. The conditions were perfect and the kids had a smile from ear to ear. This is a really fun tradition that we look forward to all year!

New Years Eve

Sadie spent the afternoon making a 2012 cake for our party at Brooke's house. She did a fabulous job and did the whole thing by herself. She even made fondant star's and numbers to put on it. It was a yummy cake!

We had a fun New Years Eve party at Brooke's house. We had yummy food and the girls loved playing with their cousins. The best part was banging pots and pans to bring in the New Year!

We had lots of fun over the Christmas break putting together our 1,000 piece puzzle. It was quite an accomplishment!

We had a fun day of bowling and arcade games at Boondocks. It had been a while since we had been bowling but the girls got the hang of it and loved it. Of Course Brinley won us all!

Christmas Morning was so fun! The girls woke up at 4:30 a.m! Of course the mean mom that I am sent them back to bed. They lasted until about 5:20 and we decided to let them go down to the presents! Brinley was so excited when the first present she opened was a Violin from Santa! He did listen to her! She has wanted a Violin ever since she saw her grandma's. She was so excited when she opened it up. She has been playing in non stop! I guess it's time for some lessons. Sadie was super excited to open up her Kanoni American girl doll. She is loving everything to do with American Girl and so a lot of her christmas focused on that! She is also a big BYU fan and loved her BYU gear! Hailey was so excited with her Salon doll and Barbie computer. She was also excited to get more Zoobles! It was a fun morning and by 6:30 they were done and so I went back to bed! Thank goodness Dad stayed awake and helped them with all of their new toys!

Chrismas Eve

We had two family parties on Christmas Eve. One was during the day at Eric's Aunt Tova's home. We love this family party and it has created alot of memories over the years as we dance around the Christmas tree and sing a Norwegian song. The girls love doing this and I'm sure it will be carried on for many generations to come! (of course I forgot my camera!) After that party we headed up to Kristi's house for our next one. We had a yummy ham dinner and then went downstairs for the program. The kids acted out the nativity while we sang songs that went along with it. The older kids read the scriptures to us. It was a really cute program. Then the fun began as Santa came again. The kids were very excited and loved all of their presents. It was a fun night but we were so tired by the time we got home. The kids went straight to bed in hopes Santa would come sooner!

This year for our Seljaas Family Christmas party we went to the EA Zone. The kids had such a fun time running around and playing with all of the balls. They had tons of fun with all of their cousins. We had a special visitor stop by and the kids were so excited. After Santa came the kids opened the gifts from their cousins. We played a few games and had a fun night together.

Brinley's 2nd grade Christmas Program

Brinley Had the cutest 2nd Grade Christmas program with her teacher Mr. Paget. They had lot's of songs they sang, they played the bells, and they read two cute stories. Brinley is loving 2nd grade and was so excited for this program. She did a really great job.

Hailey's Christmas Dance Recital

Hailey was in her very 1st dance recital and she was so excited. She got to wear her silver snowflake skirt and her ballet shoes. I was a little worried she wouldn't know the dance but she new every step perfectly. She was so cute up their and did a great job. They danced to Silver bells. Hailey loves her dance class and loves that some of her best friends dance with her! Her Dad was so proud of her he bought her some flowers. Hailey loved them.

Every year we get out the tripod and hook the camera up to take our family pictures. It is a fun tradition and we usually are laughing so hard by the end because we never no when it is going to take the picture. We actually got a couple of good ones! I am so blessed to have this wonderful family and we are so excited to add a 4th member to it! It's hard to believe that we are going to have another one but we couldn't be happier!

Crazy Weather=fun day off!

What a crazy storm we had blow through. I woke up with a startle to all of the wind. I thought for sure our trampoline was blowing away. Instead our big tree split in half. It actually landed on the tramp and kept it from blowing away! We were lucky we didn't have more damage that that. With 92 mile a hour winds and the power out the girls were definitely not going to school. Eric also stayed home from work in case any other damage was going to happen he would be here. After a few hours home with no power we decided to head somewhere warm so we decided to head down to the Festival of Trees. There was a special someone they really wanted to see there! The kids had lots of fun in the bubble machine, talking to an Elf, and making fun crafts. The Christmas tree's are so amazing especially when you see the person or story behind the tree. We had a fun afternoon and were especially excited to come home to the power back on. It was nice to have a warm home again!

The Day has come!!

I am so excited to say that this cute girl with the perfect smile finally lost her 1st tooth! She has been so patient and is about the only second grader who hasn't lost a tooth yet. We kept telling her she had perfect teeth and the longer they stay in the better your teeth are! That didn't stop her. She was pretty determined to get this tooth out. It has been a little loose for a while now but it just wasn't getting any looser. On Friday night brin decided it was time to get it out. Her Dad started pushing pretty hard on it but Brin didn't care about pain she just wanted it out. We put some ice on it to make it numb and the next thing we know her tooth is out! She was so excited and had to call all of her Aunts and cousins to tell them the good news. She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come she went right to bed! I think the tooth fairy compensated her for all of her patience and gave her $5. Brin was so excited!! Her Grandma and Marlin were so excited for her they came and took her and her sisters and cousins out for icecream! She had a grin from ear to ear. She is still Smiling with a toothless grin and I love it!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. We went up to Krisiti's house this year. My mom and Marlin joined us along with some of Jason's family. We always have a lot of fun together. The dinner was fabulous and it was nice to relax and enjoy each others company along the way. Of course we watched a few football games in the process! The kids enjoyed doing a few crafts. They made a reindeer, a wreath, and a christmas picture. It is always nice to reflect on all of our many blessings. We are very blessed in so many ways and I am very grateful for my wonderful family and friends who make this life so great.

October/Halloween Catchup!

I have taken a break from blogging so I guess it's time to catch up. We had a fun Halloween for a full week! The girls dressed up pretty much everyday for something. They had dance classes, cheerz classes, School parties, and of course Grandma's Halloween party. During Halloween I was pretty sick so by the end of the week Sadie was doing all of the face painting!

We had a fun weekend driving through Big Cottonwood Canyon. We loved looking at the beautiful fall leaves. They were a gorgeous red at the bottom but as we worked our way up the canyon they turned in to really bright yellow. We went on a hike around silver lake and had a fun picnic by the lake.

After our hike we went to pack's pumpkin patch in Farmington. We go there every year and the kids love it. They had fun picking the perfect pumpkin. While we were there we ran into our cousin's Ava and Brady!

Hailey loves Dance!

Hailey started her Dance class a couple of months ago. She loves it and asks me everyday when Dance is. She has finally figured out it is the day after church! She has some cute friends in dance with her. She is learning tap, ballet, and tumbling. She loves to wear her dance clothes a few hours before and after dance is over! I'm glad she is loving it.

It has been a while since my last post and I am trying to remember what has been going on around our house. School is in full swing and has started off great. Sadie tried out for Student Council and was excited when she made it. It requires going to school early every wed. But she is loving it and loves to plan activities and service projects the school is doing. She is really growing up and it is fun to see her enjoying life! Brinley is loving Soccer. I love going to her games and watching how passionate she is about it. She runs up and down the field and never stops! I think she will be sad when it is over. Hailey loves running around and playing at the soccer games. She is loving School and her Dance class she is in. I love this time of year the warm days and cool nights, the leaves changing in the mountains and the yummy smells of Fall!

It's hard to believe that we just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. I have to say these have been the best 13 years of my life. I feel so blessed to have found the perfect man for me! He is the best husband and father I could have ever asked for. He is such a hard worker and always wants the best for his girls! He is the rock in our family. There is always alot of emotion in a house full of girls. He is a great listener and is constantly helping me through all of my issues! He is such a tease and is constantly teasing us! I am so grateful I have him in my Life and grateful we have forever together.

Labor Day fun!

The Mom's had ton's of fun together at Midway. Of course I forgot to take a picture but we had fun walking through swiss days. We always find some fun treasure we just have to have! We loved eating out and had fun shopping in Provo. We found some great sidewalk sales and found some great deals! I love being with my sister's and Mom. They are my best friends in the world!

The girls had so much fun with their Dad last weekend. The Dad's in the family took all of the kids to Bear Lake over the weekend while the Mom's went to Midway for Swiss Days. It was a much needed break for the mom's and the kids had a great time with the Dad's. They had fun boating, watching football, riding 4 wheelers, hiking, and eating really good food! They ate steak and corn on the cob, they roasted hotdogs and made smore's around the fire pit, they went on a couple of shake run's to LaBoues. They even drove in to Paris for church. I am so impressed with these Dad's that they could take care of these kids so well. There were 14 kids in all and 10 of them are girls. That is a lot of hair to do! They went on a fun hike to Bloomington Lake and were so excited to see a Moose. For some reason the Dad's are so much more fun than the mom's! I guess that's the way it should be.

First soccer game!

Brinley had her first soccer game with her blue lightening team. She has been so excited to finally play in a game. Brinley is a real go getter and is always after the ball. Her team only has 7 players so they have to play most of the game. She was so hot we poured water on her head!

I think this is going to be a fun season of soccer and am really glad we play at a park with lots of shade!

Hailey had her back to school night and was so excited to see her teacher and class. She is going to have alot of fun this year!

Outdoor Movie!

We had a fun sleepover with the cousin's last weekend. They were begging Eric to let them watch a movie outside. It was a little windy but they had tons of fun laying on the trampoline with their cozy blankets and popcorn! Of course the movie they watched was Justin Beiber. They were a little crazy watching it and the movie was pretty loud. I'm sure our neighbors loved us!

1st day of School

The first day of school was a day full of excitement at our house. Sadie woke up at 6:30 which she never does and hasn't since! lol! She just started 5th grade and her teacher is Miss Warner. She is excited to be the big kid in the school and is growing up way to fast. I'm a little worried about the tween stage. I hope we all survive! Brinley is starting second grade and her teacher is Mr Paget. She thinks he is so funny and has loved her first week of school. I think she will have a fun year with him. She is so fun and is so nice to everyone. She is a great friend. Hailey has had a little bit of a hard time this week with just me! She doesn't start school until after labor day. She is my little sweetheart and we have lots of fun together.

The other day we had a humming bird stuck in our garage. We tried all day to get it out but it was scared and couldn't find it's way out. Eric finally got it with a broom handle but when he rescued it it was really weak. We tried to feed it sugar water but sad to say the bird didn't make it. The girls were a little sad but they had fun trying to take care of it.

Last Days of Summer

We have had lots of fun this summer. We have learned a lot of life lessons these past few months and are continuing to do so. Sometimes life throws you curve balls and you have to find ways to continue on and get through them. We have learned how important family is. They are the people you can count on through the rough times to help you get through. I am grateful for all of the support we had from friends and family while Eric was out of work this summer. We are so grateful for the Job he found and feel blessed to be a part of a great company.

We had lots of fun with dad home this summer. We loved going to concert's at the bountiful park. We would bring our blankets and lawn chairs and sit and relax together. The best part for the girls was the huge snow cones they loved to eat. They definitely had blue lips by the time they were finished with it! I loved the concert's! We went to the bag pipe concert and it was fabulous. We also went to the Carmen Rasmussen Concert and it was also really good. She was a top 12 finalist in a past season of American Idol.

Hailey had fun swimming and even started to learn how without her arm floaties on!
The girls had tons of fun with duct tape. They made all sorts of things out of it. Their favorite was making flower pens. They made a whole bunch to sell at a fundraiser for some friends of ours whose dad was just diagnosed with cancer. They were able to sell all of their pens and made $20 to donate to the family.The girls have been begging me all summer for feather in their hair. While we were at Bearlake over Raspberry days they had a booth doing feathers for $5. We jumped at the chance and they were very excited.

We took a tour through the Sweets Candy factory. They thought it was pretty cool. The best part was ending in the candy store!
With Eric's new job we had a company Lagoon Day. The girls were so excited to finally get to Lagoon and they loved it. Hailey begged Eric to go on the octopus ride with her. She also loved Bomborra.

Brooke and Lori were also at Lagoon so we met up with them and the three little cousin's had tons of fun together. Eric and I split up and he took the older kids. Brinley and her cousin Brady had lots of fun together. They rode Wicked, Colossus, Spider and all of the other thrill rides all by themselves! They thought they were big stuff! Sadie went with Lori and Kelsey and rode rattle snakes rapid and some of the other rides! We were exhausted by the end of the Day!
Hailey had a fun play date with her friends at the Dinosaur Museum at thanksgiving point! She loves her cute friends!I have mixed emotions with summer being over. I loved having the kids home (in between all of the fighting!) but we did have lots of fun together. The girls make everything brighter and I love them so much!

24th of July

There are so many fun traditions on the 24th of July but one of our favorite's is going to the Bountiful parade. Lori went early and saved us a great spot to watch. The kids got a front and center seat and loved every minute of it. The parade this year was great! We had lots of fun cheering for Kelli, Brock and Jayci in the Parade. When the parade was over we headed up to Grandma Alldredge's house for fireworks on the roof. We have a perfect view of the Mueller Park fireworks from the top of her roof. It is a little dangerous but the kids love it!

BearLake 4th of July!

We had such a fun time up at the BearLake Cabin. It is so fun to be with family and make lasting memories together.

We could always find Brinley doing cheerleading!
The lake was so high this year we had to make our way to the North Beach. It was a little crowded but the kids had tons of fun making sandcastles and splashing in the water.

Sadie's new room

Sadie is loving her new room. She decided she wanted to move to the basement so she could have a bigger room. Her room is the biggest in the house! LOL She wanted to paint her room Aqua with pink accessories.

She got some fun wall tiles for her birthday. She loves to write everything down on her new wall calendar.
Her grandma came and painted flowers on her wall and her Dad recovered the cedar chest and made the valance to go over her window. I think she is starting to feel a little more grown up! She now loves to hang out in her room.

Sadie turns 10

Sadie just celebrated her 10th birthday. She had a fun birthday party and invited some of her friends over for a late night movie party. Sadie had certain requests she wanted for her party and the biggest one was the chocolate fountain! She loves to dip anything in chocolate! We had Strawberry's, Pineapple, Cinnamon Bears, Pretzels, Marshmallows and Rice Crispy treats! The girls were in heaven and by the end of the night were on a sugar high! We also had pizza and the movie popcorn machine. We played a few games and watched a movie. Sadie made rainbow cupcakes for her party and they turned out really cute!

We have had lots of fun swimming at our Aunt Kristi's house. We have been going once a week and the girls are starting to become little fish in the water! Now the weather is warm I have a hard time getting them out of the pool!

Sadie and Brinely have had lots of fun cooking with Grandma. She has them over every wednesday to learn how to cook. They have learned how to make pie crust, and cinnamon rolls. It is the best day of the week!

Sadie and Hailey had fun making play dough cookies. They colored the sugar cookie dough and made a flower, caterpillar, and other fun shapes.

Father's Day

We had fun surprising Dad every day the week of father's day with a treat. He got Dad's rootbeer and pringles, a heart attack, a day of texting him fun messages on his phone and a few other things. The girls had fun surprising him everyday and we are so happy that he is our Dad!

We were excited to get invited to go with our Cousin's to This is the Place Heritage Park. This was our first time and we had lots of fun. Sadie learned all about Utah history this year in school. She was excited to see the Pioneer Cabins and the Indian Teepee's. We had fun walking through the school house and riding the train. We ended the day with a free icecream cone! It was a really fun day learning about our Pioneer heritage.

Sadie also had a great year with her teacher Mrs Gourley. Sadie loved her reading incentive of painting ceramics. She came home with some really cute ceramics through out the year and I think that was her favorite part of 4th grade. She learned all about Utah history this year and could tell us all about the indian tribes and the different Utah Counties.

The fourth grade put on a Utah history program at the end of the year. They sang some really cute songs and I loved how they dressed up. Sadie and some of her friends made a poster and some cute medals for all of the fourth grade teachers. They gave it to the teachers at the end of the program. Sadie was especially excited when she gave hers to Mrs. Gourley.

I can't believe it is already the last week of School. This year has flown by so fast. My girls LOVED their teachers this year and I didn't have one day of complaining to go to school. Brinley had her program last week and it was so cute! They sang some really cute songs and ended with chimes. Brinley loved her Teacher Mrs. Thompson this year. She loved learning how to read and she just loved everything about Mrs. Thompson. She is so sweet and kind to the kids.

Hailey had her preschool graduation with Mrs. Mindy and did such a cute job. I loved her cap and gown she got to wear. She learned so much this year but I think the best thing she learned is how to make friends and not be so shy.

Memorial Day

We had a fun memorial weekend spending the weekend up at my sister's place in midway. The kids had tons of fun swimming (Thank goodness for the indoor pool! ) Riding bikes, playing at the park and hanging out with cousin's. I love visiting the cemetery on Memorial Day and am amazed at how beautiful it looks. I love remembering what an amazing Dad and Grandpa my Dad was. The girls wrote him a note to put in the flower's. We are lucky to live so close and can go visit anytime we want to. We also visited Grandma Nancy's grave and love remembering her also. Even though me and the kids never got a chance to know Grandma Nancy, we love her so much and are glad we can go and visit often.

Hailey got her ear's pierced!

Last week Hailey's two cousin's Ava and Mckenna went to get their ear's pierced. When Hailey saw them she wanted to get her's done too! Grandma was so nice and gave her money to go and get her's done. We decided that day to just get up and go, so that's what we did! Aunt Lori drove us out to Claire's at the Gateway and the next thing we know Hailey has her ear's pierced! She was so brave and didn't even flinch! She held very still. They only had one worker there at the time so she had to do it twice! She didn't even cry. We were very proud of her. Happy Birthday Brinley! Brin turned 7 last saturday and was so excited for her birthday to finally get here! She woke up at 6:30 in the morning ready to get her birthday started! Brinley is such a fun loving, sweet girl. She is such a great sister and friend to everyone. She loves School and her teacher Mrs. Thompson. She loves reading, cheerleading, and playing with her friends. For Brinley's Birthday party this year she wanted a Minute to Win it Party.

We had a fun Easter with all of the usual Easter activities. We had a fun Easter dinner and Egg Hunt with Grandma Alldredge. It was fun to get with all of the family. The girls just love their cousins and are so excited to see them each week. Grandma always has such a fun egg hunt and the kids look forward to it all year. It seem's like each time we gather for a holiday I always feel the void of my Dad not being there. He always brought such fun to our parties and I miss him like crazy. He was the best Dad and Grandpa ever. Grandma Alldredge has carried on all of these fun traditions without him and we are so grateful for her.

Spring Break

We had such a fun spring break. We started our vacation off by heading down to Zion's National Park. The girls haven't been their before and so we thought it would be fun. We stayed at Zion's RV resort, and it was so beautiful. The girls really wanted to swim the second we got there but it was a little overcast and not very warm. They wanted to swim anyway. They were a little disappointed when they were to little to get in the Hot Tub, but they swam for a little while in the pool. After about a 1/2 hour their lips were all blue and we decided to be done with swimming! They had a beautiful park and the girls had fun riding bikes and playing at the park.

We spent the next day in Zion's. We got there early enough that we made our hike to the emerald pools before the rain started. It was a beautiful hike and just perfect for the girls to hike. After our hike we rode the bus up the rest of the canyon and saw all of the other trails people hike. We went and saw the huge I-Max movie about Zion's and we were the only ones in the theatre! Eric and I loved it but the girls were a little bored! When the movie was over a huge rain storm hit and it rained the rest of the day and night! We were very anxious to get on with our trip and hopefully find warmer weather in California!

The girls had lots of fun while we were driving doing puzzles, watching movies, and playing their I-Touches.

Dad was an excellent driver and stayed awake listening to his John Grisham book!
Once we made it to California it was time to get Sadie ready for her fun weekend of Cheerleading Competitions. We were staying a mile away from the convention center so most of the time we walked. It was faster to walk than to ride the shuttle!

Brinley was such a good sport watching Sadie compete. She wanted to be up there with her the whole time.
Sadie has 2 of the best coaches ever. Jenna and Kylie are so great with the girls.
Sadie's team took 2nd place out of 6 teams. There were teams from all over the country competing. They said it was the tightest comp between 1st and 2nd place. Of course we thought they deserved 1st place! They did awesome and had so much fun. I even shed a tear on her last performance knowing it would be her last one. We have decided to take a little break from cheerleading for a while. Now that Brinley is old enough to do it, it's just not fair to only let Sadie do it! We are going to have to save for a while and see if it will work out next year!

We are so proud of Sadie and all that she has accomplished with her Cheerz team. She has gained so much confidence and loved all of the friends she made on the team.

April Fools!

I wasn't too excited for April Fools Day this year. I had been dreading it all week not knowing what to do! I told the girls I was to tired to trick them this year. Eric was gone all week and I really was tired! They came home from school and had a full service beauty salon with some friends. While they were out enjoying the beautiful sunny day with their friends I came up with this April Fools joke dinner! It's a good thing the Apple store is close by!

The girls were a little surprised to find a new chicken recipe (nut roll candy bar) peas and carrots ( gobstoppers) and mashed potato's (vanilla ice-cream with carmel topping)! They had a disgusted look on their face when they tried the chicken! They loved the mashed potato's. They were even more surprised to find Jello as their drink.

Sadie wanted to play a joke on her friends so she made up these hamburgers made out of cookies! She really had them fooled!
The girls were really glad I had pizza cooking in the oven just in case they didn't like their dinner. I guess it was worth it to see the look on their faces! Until next year!

Bad things happen in 3's

Bad things happen in 3's is so true for Hailey. In the past two weeks she has had surgury, a wort burned off for the 4th time, and a fall off the kitchen bar stool that sent us up to PCMC for stitches. She has been put through the ringer but has come out great. All of the doctors were so impressed with her calm sweet demeanor. A little versed sedation always helps but she was awesome and held so still for the doctors. After 5 hours in the er we were a little exhausted. When we got home and Brinley told me she had a toothache I thought oh great here we go again! Life has been a little crazy around our house and we are hoping for things to calm down soon!

St. Paddy's Day!

Brinley was waiting all week for St. Patrick's Day to finally get here. She has been talking about Leprechaun's all week at school. She was excited to find that Lucky the Leprechaun stopped by our house and sent them on a treasure hunt to find their pot of Gold. She said the note he left was in cursive and she couldn't even read it! He sent them all over the house and at the end they found their gold and a special lucky breakfast with green milk. They had a fun day wearing their green. We ended the day with a green dinner. We had lasagna with a green salad, green jello, green rolls, and green gatorade. We had green asphalt pie for dessert! I totally forgot to take a picture. Oh well it was a hit and I'm sure a tradition we will do every year!

Hailey's Birthday

Hailey turned 4 on Monday and had a very fun day. She woke up to open presents, and with a little help from her sisters she got them all opened! Me and Sadie had fun making her Minnie Mouse birthday cake!

Hailey was excited to open a La La Loopsy doll, Uno Moo, and play dough!

She was so excited to go ride her new Barbie bike.
Rain or shine Hailey was on her bike all day. She thought it would be fun to put on her swimsuit and ride around! Her bike has a special spot for her barbie to ride with her.
We ended the day with a birthday dinner. Hailey chose to go to Carl's Jr. They had lots of fun playing in the play land. It's hard to believe she is 4 now. She is growing up so fast and I just want her to stay little forever! She is my little sweetheart and She is so much fun in our family.

Hailey's Minnie Birthday

Hailey was so excited for her birthday party. She decided quite a while ago that she wanted a Minnie Mouse party. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to do it when her surgery was 2 days before her party was to happen. She recovered so fast all was well and we had the party!

She invited 9 of her friends and cousins. Thank goodness Sadie, Brinley, Grandma and her Cousin Bridget were there to help with the games. We went on a mouse hunt to find our Minnie and Mickey ears, then we played pin the bow on Minnie ( Sadie drew the Minnie Mouse poster all by her self! She did such a great job!), we went to Minnie's wishing well and threw pennies in the bucket, we pulled the strings on the Pinata and of course she opened her presents. She has the cutest friends and loved having them at her party. After the games we went upstairs for some Minnie mouse cupcakes and Icecream! I think Hailey and her friend's favorite part was the Life size Minnie Mouse Balloon! It was taller than all of them and they all wanted to give her a hug!

Hailey's Surgery

It all started in the fall when I thought Hailey was super sick with the flu. She had a fever of 102-103 for a whole week. She was throwing up and had the chills. She was so sick she couldn't get off of her pillow. We went to the doctor and they also thought she had the flu and sent us home. After a couple of more days like this we went back to the doctor and said we were not leaving until we figured out what was wrong with her. They had us do a urine sample and sure enough she had a UTI. After getting on the Antibiotics she started to perk up and was back to herself again. A couple of months passed by and sure enough she got her second UTI. This time we new right away and got her on the antibiotics. They sent us up to PCMC for testing and found out she had a grade 4 refulx in her Ureter. They recommended staying on antibiotics for 6 months to see if her grade 4 reflux would reduce down to a 3. We were ok with that plan but about a week later she got her third UTI while on the antibiotic. I feel so bad when she gets sick with these UTI's. She get's so run down and has no energy. We called back up to her doctor at PCMC and they recommended getting her in for surgery to get her reflux fixed. We were very thankful to know that it was going to be out patient.

Hailey was a little anxious to get this done and so Eric gave her a blessing the night before. I think it helped me more than Hailey and I was grateful for the peace I felt after the blessing. The next morning Eric took her up to PCMC.

They had a fun waiting area for her to play in until they were ready for her.

She was a little nervous so they gave her a little versed to sedate her before they took her back.

She was so happy they let her take her favorite blanket back with her.

The surgery took about an hour and the doctor said she did great. She has a pretty big scar, but she thinks it's pretty cool! When she woke up she was in a little bit of pain. They gave her more pain meds. and I got to hold her while she was sleeping.After about an hour in recovery she started to wake up enough to go home. She loved her wagon ride out to the car.
On the way home all she wanted was a slurpee from 7-11! Of course her Dad stopped on the way home to get it for her. She had so many people call her and bring her balloons. Her Cousin Luke brought her a balloon and Her friends Tessa and Kylie. She was a little loopy from the Lortab but was doing great that night.
Her cute preschool class made her a cute get well card and Ms. Mindy gave her a sack full of fun activities to do while she was getting better. She is feeling much better and it is so nice to see her back to her fun self again.
We were so grateful to have such a wonderful hospital that caters to kids. Her doctor and nurses were the best. We were also grateful to my wonderful visiting teachers who brought Hailey her favorite Chicken noodle soup!

Brinley's Piano Recital

Brinley was so excited to play in her first Piano Recital. She has been practicing her song for a few months and she was excited to play it for everyone. She played It's a Small World and had it totally memorized. Brinley started Piano less than a year ago and she has done so well at it. She was excited to get her award of advancement to the next level and was very proud to stand with all of the other piano students. Brinley was excited to have Grandma Alldredge there to watch her and felt very special when she brought Brin a rose.

Valentines Day is always a fun one at our house because we not only celebrate valentines day but we also celebrate Eric's birthday. We usually start the day out with valentines and end it with birthday. It was so fun to surprise the girls on valentines morning with a pink waffle breakfast and a little valentine from Mom and Dad. We are so blessed to have these 3 beautiful girls that bring so much joy to our home. We had a fun day of school valentines parties and then off to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate Eric's birthday. We had a fun dinner and came back to open presents. The girls couldn't wait to give him their favorite present, the game Minute to Win it. We had a fun time playing some of the games and ended the night eating ice cream cake from Cold Stone! I am so blessed to have the best husband in the whole world. He truly is my best friend and he makes me so happy!

Brinley and Hailey

Brinley and Hailey bring such a big smile to my face! They are full of fun and the other day was no exception. One of their favorite things to do is go to Grandma Alldredge's house and put on all of her reading glasses she has laying around the house. Brin asked her where she got her glasses and when she told her the Dollar Store she got really excited! She came home and begged me to take them to the dollar store to get glasses! I was a little hesitant because they do have a prescription in them but we got the really low powered ones and they are loving them. They only wear them for a few minutes at a time but they think they are pretty neat to have the same glasses as their Grandma!

Sadie's team had a great time at their second comp. With a lot of hard work during the week they were able to make a few changes to their routine and took 1st place. Their team won a trophy and sadie was excited to hold it for a minute! Way to go Cheerz Allstars! I am so proud of Sadie. Cheerz is the one place where she can be herself and not be judged by others. She has made some amazing friends on her team and I am so grateful for that.

Sadie was so excited for her first cheerleading comp. of the year you would have thought it was christmas morning! She had a smile from ear to ear. She has been practicing so hard the past few months they were ready to go compete! What makes it even more fun is that her two older cousins Kelli and Jayci are also on Cheerz cheerleading teams they are just on different ones. Sadie loves and looks up to them so much. They are such great examples to her. Sadie's team did such a great job. I'm always a nervous wreck up there watching but she did great. Her team didn't make any mistakes so when they were handing out awards and her team took 5th place we were all in shock! Come to find out one of there stunts had an illegal move in it and their music was to long, They deducted 20 points ( so annoying!) at least the girls new they did great and thats all that matters! They have to fix everything by next Saturday so it may be a stressful week at practice.

Hailey and Brinley were big troopers and had fun watching. There favorite part was dressing there american girl dolls up like cheerleaders! It was a really long day but lots of fun. I still have a pounding headache from the loud music and it's the day after! Hopefully we will be recovered and ready for next saturday!

We made our annual trip up to Soldier Hollow for our sledding on New Years day. We were a little worried about the 6 degree weather but we bundled up and had a blast! The kids had so much gear on they had no skin showing! It was so fun to be with family and spend the day together.

Christmas

We started off our christmas celebration with the Seljaas family party. It is so fun to get together with everyone and was especially fun to welcome home our nephew Nathan from his mission. (I'm so mad I forgot my camera for all of our christmas parties!) We had lots of fun exchanging gifts, playing christmas songs on handbells, and playing games. We even had a visit from Santa. The next day was Christmas Eve and we had a fun party at Eric's Aunts house where we Danced around the Christmas tree and sang a Norwegian song. We look forward to this party every year and love getting together with Eric's cousins. After that party we went to my sister's house for my family party. They had a wonderful ham dinner that everyone enjoyed. Kristi had put together some really neat christmas mormon messages that we watched and then the kids each sang some christmas songs. When it was Brinley's turn we heard a knock at the door and Santa left his bag full of toys for the kids. They were so excited to see what he brought them. Brinley was excited that her singing brought Santa to them! The kids had lots of fun exchanging cousin gifts and were not disappointed with there gifts. I am so grateful to have such wonderful family on both sides and enjoy so much when we get together. We were anxious to get home so the kids could get to bed! They were so wound up they came out 3 times! They all slept in the same room and had a fun night together. Christmas morning when 7:00 hit and they still weren't awake, we decided to go and wake them up! They were very excited to see what Santa brought them. They were very excited to see new American girl dolls, pillow pets, and a new dog!(this is the only dog we will ever have at our house!) Sadie was very excited with all of her cooking supplies and has been cooking us treats ever since. We have been loving our new WII game Just Dance for kids, and Brinley has been everyone's school teacher over the break. Aunt Brooke new just what Brinley loves to do, play school. It has been so nice to have a break from our normal routine and we have been loving staying up late and sleeping in!

Christmas Traditions

This time of year is so fun with all of the family traditions that go on. We started the month off with remembering my Dad on the day that he passed. It is amazing that it has been two years. We always go and visit his grave and the girls make a special card to put on it. We still miss him so much and our conversations frequently include memories of grandpa. My mom is so amazing and she told us that she didn't want that day to be a day of longing but she wanted it to be a day to look forward to each year. She has started a tradition of giving me and my siblings a gift each year on Dec 4th as a gift from my Dad. She is always thinking of her children and we are blessed to have her.

The next week we had fun at Grandma Alldredge's Gingerbread party. The kids love this party and look forward to it each year. Grandma read them a christmas story and they all intently listened. We have quite a group now and it can get a little chaotic! We ended the party by playing christmas songs with hand bells. They were all sad when the fun was over!

Of course each year we ride the front runner and trax into temple square to see the christmas lights. We decided to go on a monday night for FHE. We weren't the only ones that had that idea! It was so crowded but we had fun and it was actually a pretty warm night.

With Christmas approaching soon the kids are excited to have 2 weeks off of school. There excitement of christmas is infectious and we have lots of fun together baking, going to christmas parties, and being with family. I love this time of year and the special feeling of Christmas.

Festival of trees

Hailey and I took a little field trip to the Festival of trees with my sister's and mom. She had lots of fun with her cousins, making fun crafts at the kid's corner, and especially sitting on Santa's lap. She was so excited to tell him she wanted a dolphin pillow pet and polly dolls! The tree's were amazing just like they are every year. There are some amazing people and stories that were told.

Our Angel's

We started our Holiday season off by choosing 3 angels off Woods Cross City's angel tree. The girls have been saving their money and doing extra jobs around the house so they could by their gift's with their own money. Sadie's Angel wanted hair accessories. We bought a couple of things for her but we also had fun making a few of our own hair clips for her. Brinley's wanted Zhu Zhu pet stuff. Hailey's wanted a new doll stroller. We had lots of fun shopping for our Angels and I think the girls learned a important lesson about giving and helping others. I think we have started a new tradition and look forward to doing this each year.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Ever since General Conference I have had President Monson's talk on my mind "An Attitude of Gratitude." I loved this quote that came from his talk.

"Do material possessions make us happy and grateful? Perhaps momentarily, However those things which provide deep and lasting happiness and gratitude are the things which money cannot buy: our families, the gospel, good friends, our health, our abilities, the love we receive from those around us. Unfortunately, these are some of the things we allow ourselves to take for granted... A grateful heart, then, comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings and to those around us for all they bring into our lives. This requires conscious effort-at least until we have truly learned and cultivated and attitude of gratitude."

A couple of weeks ago for FHE we made gratitude wreaths. The girls wrote down everything they were grateful for. It was fun to think about all of our many blessings. President Monson's talk is so true. It is easy to get caught up in all of the materialistic things of the world, but the things I am most grateful for money can not buy.

BYU's #1 Fans!

I think BYU has some new #1 fans! Sadie and Brinley were so excited to go to the BYU game over the weekend. It was definitely the game to go to BYU won 55 to 7. We had tons of fun watching the game but the girls really loved watching the Cheerleaders do all of their fun stunts and cheers. By the end of the game we were pretty good at the Rise and Shout Song! IT was perfect weather and a fun day of football!

The newest craze in our family is Jump roping! Sadie came home from school the other day with this and ever since I have someone jumping in my house! A week ago they really didn't know how to jump rope, now they are pro's at it!

Halloween!

Last week was a little bit crazy! The girls were so excited for there Halloween parties at school. Brin was sick all week with Croup but thank goodness was feeling better by thursday and was able to make it to her party. She was excited to wear her M&M costume. She came home with a spider in a Jar. They told her to watch it each day and it would grow a little bit bigger. She thought it was the coolest spider ever! Hailey had her school program and it was so fun to watch her. They sang some really cute songs and then went trick or treating to all of the parents. It was really cute. She loved being Dora and had fun singing the Dora song to everyone. Sadie was a Dead Bride and loved her costume and party. She came home very happy too! We decided to try something new this year and we went to Colonial Square and trick or treated around to all of the stores. We then moved on to our Ward's trunk or treat and luckily they made it around to most of the cars before the down pour of rain started! It was a little crazy and we got really wet but it was a lot of fun. We came home and took a little break before going out again. Sadie was really excited to go trick or treating around our neighborhood with her friends. It is really weird she is old enough to do that by herself. Eric took Brin and Hailey out and they all had a good time. A funny story that happened with Hailey was I told her that her Uncle Jason ( who is her dentist) told her she had to throw all of her candy away. The next thing I know she is bringing me the garbage can to show me all of her candy! I felt so bad and told her I was teasing! She thought it was pretty funny and was really happy to get her candy back! It was a fun Holiday but I kind of glad it's over!

Grandma Alldredge's Halloween party

The kids anticipate this Halloween party all year. They love their Grandma but they especially love that she dresses up just like they do! This year she dressed up as a Cow. She even had a cow bell around her neck! She had to do a little explaining about the Utters hanging off of her! lol. After group pictures were taken they were off to their first activity which was the Pumpkin Pinata. They each took a turn with the bat and eventually got it open. Tons of Candy bars fell out and they were grabbing to get some in their sacks. Then they had to eat a donut off of a string without using their hands. They moved on to making a spider web out of string, playing don't drop the ghost, doing a fun cake walk with Kristi's fabulous cupcakes. Hailey didn't like this game so much. She cried the whole time because her number never got called out. We fixed that problem quick and all was well! We finished off with pass the rat and a fun fishing game. Grandma always goes way above and beyond and we love her so much for it. She has a special relationship with them and they love her a lot.

Cabin Fun!

We had a really fun weekend up at the Bear Lake Cabin. The drive up was so beautiful and we loved looking at all of the different colors of the tree's. We were sad that Eric couldn't come with us this time because of work but we still had lots of fun. We had the best weather and loved carving our pumpkins. Sadie did her's all by herself, Uncle Jason helped Hailey carve a pumpkin tooth in her's and Brin did most of hers by herself. They turned out cute and loved carving them. Some of the kids then went on a hike while the older girls and mom's made some cute mummy sucker's out of oreo's. They were so fun to make and tasted even better. Kristi made us a delicious soup dinner and had orange pumpkin bread bowls to put our soup in. It was a really fun weekend and the kids were sad to leave but we were happy to come home and see Dad. We missed him tons!

Count Down to Halloween

I love this time of year and all of the fun activities and traditions we do as a family. We started off October making a fun Halloween cake. Sadie came up with the idea and decorated most of the cake by herself. We had tons of fun picking out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. The girls loved chasing each other through the hay maze and we each ended up with our perfect pumpkin.

One Last Time!

We decided on saturday to take the boat out one last time this season. It was such a nice day and only a few boats on the lake. It seems like every time we have gotten the chance to take the boat out we have had horrible weather. This time it was perfect! We had fun trying out our new tube and ski. We were able to fit all of the kids in the tube at the same time. It was great they were entertained and the adults were enjoying the peace and quiet in the boat! My girls thought it was so funny for their mom to get in the tube with them. They were even more surprised to see me ski!! Sadie got really brave and tried skiing for the first time. She almost did it. I'm sure next time she will get right up. Brin had fun on the yellow board.

Labor Day/12th Anniversary!

It's hard to believe that Eric and I have been married for 12 years. Time goes by so fast. It has been the best 12 years of my life. He is an amazing husband, father, and friend. He has blessed my life so much and I am grateful for him putting up with a house full of emotional girls! Our Anniversary always falls over Labor Day weekend. We celebrated early this year and went out to dinner to the CheeseCake Factory. We had the best dinner and finished it off with a delicious Chocolate Reeces peanut butter slice of cheesecake. It was delicious. After dinner he took me to his office that I still hadn't seen after a year of being there! And then we were off to pick up the RV. He was surprising the girls with a trip back to Lava Hotsprings with his brother Kevin and his family. When we got home they were so excited to see the RV pull in the driveway! While Eric spent the weekend with the girls, I had a fun weekend with my Mom and sister's up at Swiss Days in Midway. We have gone the past couple of years and it is so fun. We love to see all of the cute crafts people come up with. We have such a fun time together and love to stay up at Kristi's beautiful midway vacation home. This year we found these cute witch's brooms!

I Can't believe that my baby is now in preschool. It is a little crazy that she is old enough to go. She is growing up so fast and has been so excited to go to Miss Mindy's school. She loves her class and has lots of new friends. Hailey is my little sweetheart and we have lots of fun together!

It's hard to believe that summer is over and school is starting. This year Sadie is in 4th grade, Brinley is in 1st grade, and Hailey is starting preschool. Sadie and Brin had a really good 1st day of school and came home excited to tell me everything that happened. Sadie's teacher loves arts and crafts so sadie is in for a fun year. Brin loves being at school all day and loves her teacher Mrs. Thompson. She is growing up to fast. It was hard to send her off for the whole day. Hailey has had a few meltdowns the past couple of days because she misses her sisters. Hopefully when her school starts next week she won't be so sad! I do have to say that it is nice to have a little peace and quite and I am enjoying my time I have with Hailey. It's amazing how fast they grow up and all of the changes they go through.

We had another busy week. We are in full swing with Sadie's Cheerleading. She had Cheer camp for three days 5 hours a day. She came home very tired but loved every minute of it. They flew a coach in from Florida to teach them their new comp routine. He was really patient with the girls and they had lots of fun with him. Sadie is a base and has to hold a girl up into extension. I'm amazed that she is strong enough to do it!

The girls were very excited to find out who their new school teachers were. Sadie has Mrs. Gourley, Brinley has Mrs. Thompson, and Hailey is going to Mrs. Mindy for preschool. They are all really great teachers and the girls are excited to start a new school year. Sadie's teacher called the house and wanted to come over and meet Sadie. Sadie was excited to meet her and had a smile on her face when she told her she lets them paint ceramics if they do their home reading! She seems like a really nice teacher and it should be a great year. Brinley and Hailey were excited to find letters in the mail from their teachers.

Brinley was so excited to go with her Dad to pick up her teams soccer uniforms. She is so excited to have her Dad be her coach. She wanted to be #2 just like her dad wore when he played soccer. She went with him and picked out her pink soccer cleats and shin guards. She is officially ready to start soccer. She loves to put on her uniform and practice kicking her ball. (She is really wearing shorts in this picture but her shirt is really long!)

They ended the week playing spa with their friends. They cut up zucchini from the garden and put it over their eyes. They painted fingers and toes. Brin and Hailey loved it.

Another birthday has come and gone! We had a fun day. Me and the girls went and saw Despicable Me and loved it. They spoiled me all day and that night Eric and I went out to dinner to the Texas Roadhouse while grandma tended the kids. They got me an apple pie and lit sparklers as my candles. (We used to to that when I was a kid!) They put so many in the fire alarm went off! I am getting old.

We went to the cabin one last time this summer and had a great time. We got caught in a storm during raspberry days and got poured on while we went through the booths! The wind was so strong it about blew us over! The girls were starting to have a panic attack and were very glad to get back to the car. We had lots of fun at the beach and trying out a new ez up ski. They loved it and didn't want to stop.

24th of July celebrations

We had a fun week last week. We started it off by going up to Bearlake for the week. It was a girls trip. All of the husbands were busy with work and Krisiti and Jason were on their stake trek that week. So my sister Lori me and my mom went to the cabin for the week. It was a little crazy with 10 kids and 3 adults but we had a great time. We made it home just in time to get to the parade on main street. We found a pretty good spot but it was so HOT. We kept cool with the kids spraying water on us with their squirt bottles. The kids loved the parade. They loved the clowns, the cute ponies, the missionaries, and especially seeing two of their cousins Jayci and Kelli cheering with their schools. After the parade we went up to Grandma Alldredge's house for fireworks. They loved holding sparklers and watching the fireworks. It is tradition to get on Grandma's roof to watch the Mueller Park Jr High fireworks. We were not disappointed, it was a great show! We were so tired and were anxious to get home. The next day we went to the Bountiful park and got our favorite treat Brigham's bread. The girls rode on a couple of rides but their favorite part was getting there faces painted. It was a fun day. It was nice to come home and take a nap. We ended the day with a little family BBQ and a game of croquet.

Bearlake and 4th of July celebration

We started our fun Bearlake weekend swinging in the playground at the cabin. The girls were so excited to get up there and see all of their cousins. The first day was really windy so we played alot of Dr Mario on the nintendo
We made it to the beach and the kids loved playing and digging in the sand but about 20 min later we had a major wind storm blow in and we headed back to the cabin!
We had the best smores ever. Aunt Steph found huge marshmellows to make our smores extra gooey
Of course the guys had the world cup soccer on!
We made it back to the lake but the water was so cold uncle Jason pulled all of the kids on the tube from the boat to the beach!
We celebrated 2 cousin birthdays over the weekend. Mckenna and Nate's. Lori made the cutest KiLan cake and Nate a baseball cake.
We went to church and the little girls looked so cute all dressed up.

We came home on the 5th of July to a fun neighborhood BBQ. We had great food and fun fireworks.

It's hard to believe another year has gone by. Sadie turned 9 years old today and she was so excited. She is one of the last of her group of friends to turn 9. She had a fun birthday party and went swimming up at her aunt's house. It was fun to relax and swim. They were a little tired and worn out after swimming for 3 hours. Sadie was so excited for her birthday she woke up at 6:00 a.m. to open her presents. I think she was happy with what she got and had a fun day. We went to Toy Story 3 and out to dinner to celebrate. I am so proud of Sadie. It is fun to watch her grow up. She is turning in to quite the young lady!

Lava Hot Springs

We decided awhile ago that we wanted to go try the RV out as a family and go to Lava Hot Springs. Eric and his work partner bought the RV for all of the trips to Idaho they have been taking. They have used it alot but this was our first trip in it and I didn't really know what to expect. I can tell you that I really don't enjoy camping to much! We had heard from Eric's brother about this really nice camp ground that had full hookups for the RV in Lava Hot Springs. I haven't been their since I was a kid. I remembered it being lots of fun but I soon found out that it had changed alot since I was a kid for the better!! As we were driving to Lava Hot Springs the kids were all excited to finally get on the road. They loved the ride and sitting on top in the bed. I was a nervous wreck. It was really windy and I thought we were going to get blown off the road! Thank goodness we made it there just fine. When we got there it was raining and cold so we turned on a movie and got cozy and settled for the night. The next day we had tons of fun riding bikes and enjoying the Hot Springs. It was still overcast and the perfect day for Hot Springs. They felt so good and the kids loved swimming in them. The rest of the trip we had perfect weather and lots of sunshine. We spent a day at the olympic sized pool, river rafting and enjoying the RV. We even made our first dutch oven dinner. It was delicious!! I am totally convinced that RVing is the way to go! It was so comfortable and the kids loved it. Brinley was so sad that it was time to come home she cried all morning long! It was a awesome weekend and a fun way to spend Father's day. The girls made Eric a cute candy bar poster. He loved It. He is the best Dad ever.

School programs/Last day of School

Sadie had her school program and it was really cute. Her music teacher had them sing and do all different kinds of rhythms using their hands and different instruments. She did a great job. Sadie loved the last week of school. Her class earned a WII/pizza party. They got to play mario cart for most of the day! Sadie loved her teacher this year and was a little sad on the last day of school. I think she will miss her. On the last day of school Brinley had her kindergarten/graduation program. They also sang some really cute songs. Brinley loved the song we're going on a Bear Hunt. She got to wear her bear mask and thought that was a lot of fun. Her teacher Mrs Jessee was the best. She was such a great teacher and really cared a lot about her students. She made the cutest movie of all of the pictures she took of the kids throughout the year.

The kids are a little more than excited for summer to be here. The second school got out the plans were already starting. Sadie went off swimming with a friend and Brinley and Hailey had lots of fun with the water under the tramp. Sadie wanted to make a end of school cake. She really wanted to make a smiley face cake! She was really excited when her cousin Melissa called and invited all of the girls down to her house for the weekend for a sleepover. She was excited to take the cake and share it with everyone. They had such a fun time with their cousins, I had a hard time getting them to come home!

Memorial Day

It's hard to believe that Memorial day has come and gone for another year. It is nice that each Memorial day it's all in one stop. Eric's Mom, Grandma, my Dad's and sister Kelli's graves are all at the Bountiful cemetery. I love that we live so close that we can visit any time we want to but it is especially beautiful during Memorial weekend. I love to go and see all of the flowers on the graves. It really is a beautiful sight. It is one of my kids favorite places to go so they can remember all of the memories we have of Grandpa and it is a chance to talk about their Grandma Seljaas who they never knew. I always think it will be easier each time we go visit but I always seem to shed a few tears. The girls this year each drew a picture of a memory they had with Grandpa. They were so cute and they stuck them in the flowers we put on his grave. I am so mad I totally forgot to take a picture of them. I am grateful to know that families are forever and what peace that brings to me and my family.

Brinley's Field Trip to the Zoo

Brinley was so excited for her zoo field trip. She wanted me to come with so I volunteered for this one! We had a group of three and she was with her two friends Eternity and Kylie. We had such a great time. They loved the giraffes, and especially the baby elephant. I really think their favorite things to do were of course the bus ride, the train ride and they loved the carousel. We had a fun day and luckily missed the rain. As soon as we got to the bus to go home it started to pour!

Brinley has been on the count down for her birthday for the past 2 months. She was so excited for it to finally get here! She loves Alvin and the Chipmunks the squeakual so much that we decided to do a Chipette Birthday party for her. I decided to try and make her birthday cake and hope for the best. I think it turned out pretty cute. She was really excited with it. We invited 10 of her friends to her party! It was a little crazy but it was so much fun. We played freeze dance, music walk and Sadie taught them the I'm a single lady dance the chipettes do in the movie. The kids were loving it. After opening presents and eating pizza for dinner we turned on Avin and the chipmunks the squeakual and let them watch. It was such a fun night. I think Brin was on overload!! She was also excited to take the birthday bag to school. She got to put in some of her favorite things. She was very excited to put in her new american girl doll that she got for her birthday.

Brin is so full of life she is always making us laugh and putting a smile on our faces. She is turning in to such a fun girl. We sometimes laugh about where she came from because she is so different than me and Eric!! She is not shy and tells you exactly what she thinks! She loves school, dance and playing with friends. We love Brin so much and are glad she had a fun birthday.

BYU Women's Conference

Last week I was able to go to Women's Conference down at BYU with my sister's and mom. We had such a great time together and it was so uplifting hearing the different speakers. I hope I can take the advice I learned and apply it in my own life as a mother and wife. It was so fun being with my sisters and mom. I think this will be a new tradition each year!

Brinley had her dance recital that she has been working on for a few months. She was so excited for the day to finally come. She has so much fun with her cousin Bridgett. It has been fun having them in the same dance class. Brinley was not scared at all and practiced smiling all day. It was really fun watching her up on stage loving every minute of it. She loved getting a rose at the end of the show!

Brinley was so excited to put her dance recital clothes on for her dance pictures. We curled her hair and put on a little makeup and out she was for some pictures. She later went to her dance studio to get pictures with her class. She had it set in her mind that her dad was going to take her. I told her he would be the only dad there! She didn't care and when they got their he was the only one. He even had to put her bows in her hair!! Oh well it was a fun daddy daughter day. Next week is her dance recital and she is very excited!

Memory Quilt

I was so excited to get this quilt my mom has been working on for the past year and a half. She made six quilts. She kept one and gave each of the kids one. She went through all of my dad's shirts that he wore and cut them into squares for the quilts. It is amazing the memories that come to me when I see this quilt. My dad did so many things for us, this is a fun reminder of him. Brinley even remembers him wearing the burgundy plaid shirt when he sat on Santa's lap for her! I am thankful that my mom did this for us. It was a special gift that we will treasure.

Spring Break

We started spring break up at my sisters cabin in BearLake. We went up for conference weekend with Eric's sisters and their families. We had such a great time with everyone. Eric and the guys went to the Paris Tabernacle in Paris Idaho for the priesthood session. It is a historic building that my ancestors help build. They took a little tour after the priesthood session was over to check it all out. While they were at conference the girls had fun making crafts and playing games. Even though it was a little cold we still were able to go on a four wheeler ride. Easter is always eventful and the kids were excited for the easter bunny to come. It was great to spend easter with cousins and family.

The rest of the week we had fun at Boondocks, The Childrens museum, and dog sitting Izzy.

We are not much of a dog family but we make an exception with Izzy. We just love this dog. The girls had so much fun taking care of her. I really didn't do much! She is such a loveable dog and loves to curl up by you! At the end of the week another cousin wanted to take care of her and my girls had a hard time letting her go! It's a good thing we can go visit her anytime!

Well thats about it for our spring break. I hope we can make it through the next couple of months of school. I think the kids are definitely ready for summer!!
